Another bird box, this time it has a camera in it so we can spy on the nest.

The idea of this box was to look similar to the shed.

So we start off with the basic part of the build. You'll see that I have sectioned off the middle so the nest area is not so big the birds would reject it.

Now it's time to make the door and windows. The top section of the door has been made from aluminium sheet and I cut a 25mm hole in it for blue tits.

Now we start with the enhancing bit to make it look like the shed. What I've done is shaved the edge off the slats to form a slant to make it look similar to shiplap which is what our shed is made from.

Now that's done we need to paint it to protect it from the weather, this involved a few coats of oil based paint for best protection.

Now for more enhancements. I took photos through the windows of each of our sections of the shed I then cut them out to fit in the windows I then put plastic sheeting over the top (its the same sheeting we use for dolls house windows)

Time to fit the camera now. It's a POE (power over ethernet) so I only have to run one cable to it for both power and video signal. It came from www.spycameracctv.com.

Now for the roof and finishing touches. I have some small chipping green mineral felt which is what's used on the roof.
