Title: How to put images/photos in to posts.
Post by: Dave on May 03, 2015, 05:18:47 PM
This is a walkthough to explain how to post photos into a post.

The first thing to do is make sure that you have the photo/s you want to insert into the post on your PC before creating the post text.
Ensure the images are not too big the maximum acceptable size for a photo is shown below the attachments area it also shows the file types that are acceptable(shown in the photos below)

The screenshots included below have been inserted as per the guide below the size of them in pixels is '863 wide x 599 high ' file size is 88.6KB

Click on the screenshots below to enlarge them

1. Start by opening a normal new topic post.
2. Once you have done that add the text that you want to include in the post. (it is OK to do all the text first then add the photos at the end)
3. Once you have the text in the post click on the + sign at the bottom below the text box, as circled below.

4. You will now see the options for inserting photos. First thing to do is click the cursor in the text area where you want the photo to appear. Once you have done that make your selection from the expanded box, the most common method is to use the 'Inline Expandable Thumbnail' as shown below.

5. You will see that {attach=1} is now showing in the post text this is the place where the photo will be placed once you press the post button. At this point you need to click on the 'Browse' button to find and select the photo file on your PC that you want to attach. If you want to insert another photo into the post then click on 'more attachments' following the same steps as above by placing the cursor where you want the second and other photos to appear. You can insert a photo directly in between text in a sentence as shown below.

6. At this point I suggest you copy and paste your text into Notepad or a similar text editor, this is just in case the post is rejected because the photos are to big, if this happens you might lose your post and have to start again.

7. Now look at your text and where the attachments are going to be located. If you are not happy with where the photos are going to be placed you can copy and paste the {attach=1} and move it to another location, remember to remove the original or it will not allow the post and it might be rejected.

8. Once you're happy with the photo locations and the text click on the 'Post' button.

If everything has gone as planned then you should see something similar to the screen shot below.

If your still not happy with the location of the images or the text you can edit the post and change the {attach=1} around to suit your needs, just ensure you follow section 7. above.
