These snapshots were taken today, as you can see the eggs are still there and mum is still sitting on them

Yes we do too John, blue tits are notorious for for chicks dying in the nest and fledglings falling to the ground and being eaten by magpies and crows.

The parents are backwards and forwards like a fiddlers elbow with food for the young ones.

Here's today snapshot. Although you can only see 5 mouths open there ae still 6 there, one was having a nap

Looks like we're down to 4 now with one try to get out the nest.

Yes I agree. it's better than none at all. Just have to watch them in the next week or so as they fledge to make sure they are safe. Apparently they take three weeks from hatching to fledging so should be about end of this coming week.

What about the drop below the nest, how hard is it... do you have an old mattress
