A hobby is a regular activity that is done for enjoyment, typically during one's leisure time. Hobbies can include collecting themed items and objects, engaging in creative and artistic pursuits, playing sports, or pursuing other amusements. By continually participating in a particular hobby, one can acquire substantial skill and knowledge in that area. Generally speaking, a person who engages in an activity solely for fun is called a 'hobbyist', whereas a 'professional' generally engages in an activity for reward and an 'amateur' (from French for "lover of") does so out of personal interest in an activity. While an amateur may be as skilled as a professional, a professional receives compensation while an amateur generally does not.
So what now?
My hobby isn't shown!

In the post profile with a poster's info, as seen on the left of this post and all others, the green square for showing that a user is online is missing from this theme. It's "useron.gif" and should be placed here:
When a user is not online you'll see a white square next to their name which is:

Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular customers at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, or even Wal-Mart. This one caught me totally by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don...

A new day a new project.
This time it's a castle for Shirl to add to the raffle to raise money for charity.
As usual start by cutting out the panels, all made from 6mm MDF
Then the long task of cutting out the battlements, windows and doors.
Now that's done, paint and dry assemble to ensure it all fits together
Now the task of putting ...

I decided to buy and new car. After careful consideration and searching for both functionality and price I have got another Honda Civic, they really can't be beaten for the functions as standard and price compared to other makes and models. The model I've bought is an SE Plus Navi.
Colour is Milano Red, engine is 1.8 i-VTEC manual.
Here's a few photos taken when I got to the dealers to pick it up. I liked the notice in the windscreen touch, very clever by the dealer to make...

I have gone off at a tagent this time and I've bought a boat, not one you can sit in, unless your Stuart Little, but one that you can take out on to the boating lake and have fun with.
It comes as a kit that is laser cut and then you have to glue all the parts together, that's easy I hear you say, well I got news for you because it's not as easy as it seems. Having the right clamps is the first thing you need and plenty of them as you'll see in the photos below, a large roll of maskin...

Well, we had planned on getting down to Cannes but the weather, French air traffic controllers & airspace restrictions for the footy put paid to all that (mainly the weather - thunderstorms in the south).
Anyway, leg 1 was from Blackpool to Lydd...
